The ribbon (supervisor)

The ribbon, found at the top of supervisor's screen, comprises several tabs. Three tabs – view, create and extra – are always available, and are described in this topic.

Other tabs appear depending on the activity you are carrying out, and are described in the relevant sections of this Assistant.

Using the ribbon

Most windows in Askiafield also have their own dedicated ribbon tabs, which appear when that window is active. They contain commands applicable to that area of functionality (e.g. focus on task in the tasks ribbon). Details of these tabs can be found in the relevant sections of this Assistant.

You can hide the ribbon (and thereby increase the screen space available for AskiaField's various windows) by double-clicking any of the tabs. This leaves the tabs themselves visible, but hides the rest of the ribbon. While the ribbon is hidden, you can still use it by clicking any tab; the ribbon temporarily appears, showing the commands on the selected tab, until you click one of the commands. If the ribbon is hidden, you can display it again by double-clicking any of the tabs.

When window snapping is switched on, you can override it by holding SHIFT when you drag. The options available are:

  • Never snap any window: window snapping is off
  • Automatic - snap all windows: window snapping is on (you can hold down SHIFT to override window snapping).
  • Manual - only snap windows when I'm holding down shift: window snapping is off, but you can temporaily switch it on by holding down SHIFT as you drag a window.
