Managing restrictions

Use this restrictions window to define restriction patterns which can then be applied to agents, granting them access to certain functions, including the global management features, of CCA. The restrictions window displays all existing restriction patterns created by the CCA administrator.

To open the restrictions window, click restrictions in the view tab of the ribbon.

The fields (columns) are as follows (note that you can right-click in the column headings to specify which fields are visible):

You can sort the list according to the contents of any column (e.g. name), simply by clicking the relevant column header; to reverse the sort order, click the column header again.

The Supervisor module enables agents to access global management features of CCA. Its functions and user interface are identical to those of CCA.

A person who has permission to start up a Supervisor module will be able to perform all the actions the CCA administrator is capable of, as long as he/she has been granted the authorities by the CCA administrator. It is these restriction patterns which determine the extent and power which a Supervisor will be able to yield.

Notes about supervisor authority

Further details concerning Supervisor authority:

Note: An event or property can only be edited by one person at a time. Any administrator or supervisor trying to modify an event or property that is currently being modified by another administrator or supervisor will be prevented from doing so, and presented with a warning message.

Furthermore, as the Supervisor module potentially allows you to fully modify the organization and hierarchy of your contact center, we recommend that you give serious thought to the hierarchical structure you want to implement, especially when granting authority to agents to create and assign new restriction patterns. Improper assignment of Supervisor authorities, such as the authority to manage restriction patterns, could result in agents unwittingly depriving other agents of their supervisor authority, or even depriving themselves of supervisor authority.
