External reporting service

From CCA version 5.2.4, there is an external reporting service. This service can be installed on any machine which has access to both CCA and the reporting databases.

No configuration is required for this service, except for specifying the CCA location and, sometimes, the port number. The database locations and other settings are retrieved from CCA.

Installation

The reporting service has a setup utility and an updater, and it is possible to auto-update just like AskiaVoice, Supervisor and AskiaFace.

You can install multiple reporting services on the same machine, but they must connect to different instances of CCA (so one service per CCA). Each of these services (on the same machine) is stored separately, and can be updated separately. This means they can have different versions if the CCAs are different versions.

You can connect multiple reporting services to the same instance of CCA (although each reporting service has to be installed on a different machine).

Running reports

When at least one reporting service is available, CCA will no longer run reports by itself, but send all reports to the service(s). The service which is running the least amount of reports will be used to run the next report.

As it is not possible for Supervisor to connect to an external reporting service, it still runs reports locally.
